(Outlaw Judges Do Not Allow Free Speech)
Our First Amendment took a hit when the Supreme Court of Michigan reprimanded
high profile attorney Geoffrey Fieger for likening judges to Nazis during his appearance on
Detroit-area radio shows. In writing the majority opinion, Chief Justice Clifford Taylor said
Fieger's comments were "nothing more than personal abuse." The three opposing justices
agreed with Fieger that his remarks constituted freedom of speech and are protected
by the First Amendment.
